Join us for a great day with Terry Reese, creator and developer of MarcEdit.
Cost is $20, which includes lunch.
The Capital District Library Council is excited to be sponsoring a workshop presented by Terry Reese, creator and developer of MarcEdit. Terry is currently the Head of Digital Initiatives at The Ohio State University Libraries.
MarcEdit is a free software suite designed for large-scale batch record processing, including batch editing MARC records, character set conversions, and record extractions. It also provides the ability to perform crosswalks between MARC and other data formats.
The first half of the day will be an overview of MarcEdit and a discussion of using the software in your workflows.
The afternoon will include a discussion of real-world problems and specific issues involving MarcEdit. If you have a specific question or scenario you would like us to discuss, please submit it on the registration form or by emailing Susan D'Entremont at susan@cdlc.org
This workshop is for both people who want to learn more about MarcEdit and those who are currently using it. All are welcome!
Please note that this workshop is being held at Clifton Park Halfmoon Public Library.
