Preservation Interest Group: Mold II

Let’s Talk About Mold in Collections: Ann Kearney will offer an introduction to the topic of mold in collections and then introduce two speakers who will discuss their experiences.

Kevin Costigan, an Historic Conservation Technician from the New York State Cultural Education Center, will speak about responding to mold outbreaks in historic houses where limited resources are typical.

Cher Schneider, Head of Conservation at the NYSED – Office of Cultural Education, will present a brief case study of a large leak that occurred in the spring of 2021 in the NYS Archives Staff Records Center in Albany, NY. She will detail their response process and lessons learned that can help your institutions with disaster response where mold occurs.
