If you attended the CDLC Annual Meeting, you heard a litle bit about Union College's find of George Washington's hair in their collections. And even if you didn't attend, you have probably been caught up in the excitement surrounding Hamilton's arrival at Proctors Theatre.
Now CDLC members have a chance to learn more about Washington, Hamilton, and Union College at this special event. Join us for a tour and lecture by India Spartz, Archival Consultant and former Head of Special Collections and Archives, for the exhibit, "Digging Deeper: How Hair, Hamilton, and a Burial Ground Brought New Light to the Schuyler Family and The Founding Fathers of Union College."
The tour and talk will be followed by light refreshments.
The exhibit explores the personal connections between President George Washington and the Hamilton/Schuyler family. The exhibit also looks at the influence of Eliza Hamilton's father, Major General Philip Schuyler, on the founding of Union College in 1795.
Union is out of session, so parking will be available on campus for this event. Lamont Lot is closest to Schaffer Library. There are also two handicapped spots adjacent to the library. Directions and a campus map are available at: https://www.union.edu/about/area/maps-directions
