Please note: This program will NOT be recorded.

This program is aimed at those interested in working in public libraries governed by local civil service agencies.  Direct employment with New York State is beyond the scope of this session and will not be covered.  The program will help attendees understand the civil service framework, explore the types of public libraries that utilize the civil service system, provide information on how to access details about civil service library jobs in the Capital Region, and provide information on the civil service exam and hiring process.

Registrants can submit questions with their registration or email them to Susan D'Entremont at susan@cdlc.org. There will also be ample time for questions at the end of the program.

About the presenter: Geoffrey Kirkpatrick is the Director of Bethlehem Public Library in Delmar, NY.  He is a former President of the New York Library Association and has served as a member or Chair of the NYLA Civil Service Task Force/Civil Service Committee since 2006.
