Scholarly Communications Interest Group

At our March meeting we discussed the recent news about the University of California, as well as academics from Germany and Norway, and their contract negotiations/endings with Elsevier. Also discussed was Springer Nature releasing some of its “subscription articles” through its cooperative agreement with ResearchGate, and other trends with academic publishing and open access.

Those who viewed the film Paywall: The Business of Scholarship also shared their reactions to the film and the live follow-up discussion.
