Meeting Notes

Emily Kilcer of the University at Albany and Traci Tosh of Albany Medical College presented on data management based on the Research Data Management for Librarians 101 (Fall 2018) course offered by the National Network of Libraries of Medicine (NNLM). They described how the course provided an introduction to data issues and policies in support of developing and implementing or enhancing research data management training and services at your institution. Course topics included an overview of data management, choosing appropriate metadata descriptors or taxonomies for a dataset, addressing privacy and security issues with data, and creating data management plans. Please see the Resources page for the RDM session outline (more detailed presentation notes), and the presentation Power Point.
