These grants provide an opportunity for libraries, museums, and historical societies in our region to make their undiscovered collections accessible for all to discover and enjoy. This year, we were able to provide funding for 11 projects.
This year's cohort will be increasing access to thousands of items and objects that reflect the Capital District's rich heritage and history by adding items to NYS Historic Newspapers, New York Heritage, and local catalogs.
Topics range from natural disasters in Schenectady County to Adirondack pioneers. We'll have the opportunity to explore the story of industrial research, the history of southern Saratoga County's "mother" town, college life in the Capital Region, and community art projects.
