CDLC Member Library Tours in 2020

We hosted our second virtual tour on July 23, 2020, featuring the Schenectady County Historical Society.

The program included a tour of the Grems-Dolittle Library, which is housed in the Dora Jackson House, at 32 Washington Avenue in the Stockade District of Schenectady. The tour was given by Marietta Carr, Librarian at the Grems-Dolittle Library. 

Highlights and areas seen on the tour:

• Map Gallery: semi-permanent display
• Yates Dollhouse
• Exhibit Area (Current exhibit: Handcrafted: The Folk and Their Art)
• Grems-Dolittle Library Reading Room
• Basement Storage area (archive collection)
• Future plans for the library including cataloging, collection development, partnerships, working with local schools on developing lesson plans, and programming ideas.

We hosted our third virtual tour on September 25, 2020, featuring the Albany County Historical Association.

The tour was given by the Executive Director Kathryn Kosto of the Albany County Historical Association.

• Tour of the Ten Broeck Mansion
• History of the Ten Broeck Mansion

We hosted our fourth virtual tour on September 29, 2020, featuring the New York State Military Museum in Saratoga.

The tour was given by Librarian/Archivist Jim Gandy, Chief Curator Mark Koziol, and Flag Curator Christopher Morton, at the New York State Military Museum.
