Consortial Purchasing Opportunities
CDLC member libraries are eligible to participate in the consortial and cooperative purchasing opportunities listed below.
WALDO:
The Capital District Library Council is a part of the NY3Rs/WALDO partnership. Through this partnership CDLC members are eligible to take advantage of WALDO's consortial database purchasing arrangements. Academic libraries are eligible for all WALDO databases. Many databases are also available to public, hospital and K-12 libraries. Selected databases are available to corporate and other special libraries on an individual quote basis.
- WALDO (Westchester Academic Library Directors Organization) is a consortium representing academic, school, public and special libraries in New York State.
- New York State libraries participating with WALDO include: 320 academic libraries, 1800 K-12 libraries, 325 public libraries, 155 hospital libraries, and 10 special libraries.
- WALDO offers: Favorable contract terms and conditions; favorable prices based on state wide volume aggregation; consolidated billing & single renewal cycle; prorated fees; rapid product availability; and new and competitive consortial procurement alternatives.
- WALDO Support Services include: IP address management; database
trials; database training; on-site consultation; and subscription
facilitation.

NYLINK:
As a full member of Nylink, CDLC is eligible for cooperative purchasing through Nylink. As a benefit of CDLC membership, CDLC can facilitate the purchase of products through Nylink for CDLC members who are NOT full Nylink members. Please contact Chris Walker for more information.
