Committees
The Capital District Library Council operates a number of committees to enhance the operation of the Council and its programs and services. There are two major categories of Board appointed committees:
Board Committees are standing committees charged with making recommendations to the CDLC Board regarding activities in which the Council is engages or which relate to the way in which the Council operates. Examples of Board Committees include the Membership Committee and Personnel Committee.
Advisory Committees are formed on behalf of specific programs administered by the Council. Examples of Advisory Committees include the Documentary Heritage Committee, the Coordinated Collection Development Committee, and the Regional Automation Advisory Committee.
Each committee has a charge, approved by the Board, that addresses the committee's responsibilities, concerns, composition, and number of members. All advisory committees have a Board liaison who is a voting member of the committee, as well as a CDLC staff member liaison who is an ex officio member of the committee.

In addition to the Board and Advisory Committees shown above, CDLC sponsors interest groups to encourage communication and collaboration among the staff of CDLC member libraries and other interested individuals. The Council does not appoint these groups or membership committees and participation is informal. Please follow the link for more information about interest groups.
